Blake's 6 Month Update
Blake is officially 6 months. It is so crazy how fast time goes when you have a little one. I feel like pregnancy is so slow because you are just waiting for your little one to arrive and then once they are here, they grow like weeds.
Blake is now 16lbs and 6oz. He is a little chunk. He has been actually thinning out compared to his 3 month old picture. At Blake’s 6 month appointment, the doctor said that he is right on track with everything. He has been growing about 2 pounds each appointment. I am curious to see what his 9 month appointment will look like!
If you don’t follow my Instagram, then you don’t know that Blake’s nicknames include chunks, Bakes (given to him from a 2 year old), and Blakikins.
Blake is now sitting up unassisted and that is all he wants to do. He would rather not do any tummy time or lay on his back anymore. He is so nosey that he is able to see everything while sitting up. Another favorite thing is the jumper. He could jump for hours if he didn't get tired!
We have officially introduced food to Blake. He loves to explore with the food. We decided to do Baby Led Weaning so Blake eats what we eat. We are slowly introducing him to new things each day. So far he has tried sweet potatoes, broccoli, carrots, asparagus, cauliflower, bell pepper, zucchini, avocado, chicken, steak, ground bison and rice. He really loves sweet potatoes. Joe’s dad said that he needs try everything so he doesn’t turn out like me. I am super picky so Joe is doing everything to get new things in front of Blake. The night that Blake had ground bison, was actually my first night having it as well. I have to say it was pretty good! Blake has a real easy time taking the food to his mouth. Most of it doesn’t stay in his mouth but at least he is getting all of the tastes. Broccoli has probably been his least favorite so far.
We also started sleep training him. We didn’t expect to go this route but it has actually worked out really well for us. Blake now sleeps for about 11 hours in his crib at night and takes 3 naps a day. His naps are about an hour long each. Sometimes they can be longer if he is pretty active during the day.
Overall Blake has been a happy 6 month old. I feel blessed to have such a happy and healthy baby. It is also going way too fast. I need time to slow down. We are definitely trying our best to enjoy these times with him and watching him grow has been the best thing ever.
