Utah Travel Diaries
Utah is such a remarkable state and I had no clue of all its beauty! I have always heard so many great things about it, but it is a place you have to see for yourself! I have officially been to Salt Lake City, Park City, Moab (which is where the Arches National Park is!), and Zion National Park. We went to Zion National Park January 2017 and it was amazing! So June of 2018, we road tripped from California to Colorado. During this trip we stayed in Salt Lake City and Moab. In the summer time, it is HOT! So if you plan to go, make sure you are packing lightweight items. I wore a lot of flowy dresses.
Also when hiking, make sure to wear shorts instead of leggings! When we did go hiking, we left at 6:30 in the morning to make sure we beat the crowds and the heat. It was still hot even that early, but it was bearable! I do not know how people were able to hike at the high peaks like 1 or 2 in the afternoon. I do not suggest it, but bring a lot of water.
We stayed in hotels for both Salt Lake City and Moab because of the heat. We considered camping but knew it would be too hot and unbearable.
In Salt Lake City, we found the cutest coffee shop and fell in love with the coffee! If you are new around here, then you'll soon learn that the hubby and I love coffee! It is sorta our thing so we love to explore new coffee shops and taste all the coffee! We found Publik Coffee Roasters and about died with happiness. They have 3 locations in Salt Lake City, but we only went to the one that was walking distance from our hotel. If you're passing through or you live around there, you must try it.

While we were staying in Salt Lake City, we made the drive up to Park City which is an adorable little mountain town. It has a really cute downtown with lots of boutiques and restaurants. We had pizza while we were there and it was AMAZING! I am a sucker for good pizza.

Also while in Park City, Utah, we stopped at the Olympic training facility! It was really cool to see how athletes practice and train in the summer time with no snow. We even got to watch a few kids take some practice runs. It is remarkable what those kids can do at such a young age. I can hardly even snowboard myself (I have to learn to snowboard this winter now that we live in Colorado! haha!).
The facility is really cool! They have the training areas, but they also have stuff for people to do. You can check out the museum, go zip lining, bob sledding, and if you take your bike you can ride on a bunch of different trails they have available! To find more details about the park click here!
moab, utah
Moab was the last stop on our trip through Utah! This was probably my favorite place in Utah. The arches are just amazing. It is seriously amazing what this earth has provided us with!
We decided to get up at 5:30am to go for a hike because the heat was no joke. We also decided to hike to an arch that was not in the national park because we knew it would be crowded. We chose Corona Arch and it was beautiful! It was an easy hike and totally worth it.
It is about a 1.5 miles from the parking lot to the arch. Dogs are also allowed on this trail and that is another reason that we chose this hike. We had Hunter and in the Arches National Park, dogs are not allowed to go on the trail heads.
If you are going in the summer, then you'll have to go early in the morning because it gets super hot and there is little to no shade on the hike. Make sure to drink lots of water and comfortable shoes! Even a hat if you're going after the sun is up! Don't forget to your sunscreen! I shared everything I wore and took on our hike so you can shop it too!
