Umpqua Hot Springs in Oregon
Going to the hot springs has always been on my bucket list. We have always come up with excuses because we were always too busy or there was never enough time on our trips. So when we decided that we were going to Oregon for Thanksgiving, I knew I wanted to do the hot springs.
The Umpqua Hot Springs were awesome. They were on the side of a cliff which was really cool. You could see the river below and you could even hike down there if you wanted. We did not because it was rainy and cold that day and we definitely wanted to be in the warm water not the cold river.
We actually went on black Friday in hopes that they would be empty but boy were we wrong. It seemed everyone had that idea. It was packed. It took us a while to figure out which hot spring we could all fit in.
If you ever go to these hot springs, try and get into the spring that would be considered the second spring. It is warm, but not too hot. The original feeds the second one but doesn’t burn your skin or make you want to get out.
I am very thankful for my hubby and brothers who made the trip out with me. None of them really wanted to go at first due to weather but I finally was able to talk them into it. It was a short hike and slippery because it had been raining all week. That also did not stop anyone from going either, surprisingly!
