Mom and Dad's First Date with Gaylord Rockies Relache Spa

Joe and I finally had our first date since having Blake. Thanks to the Gaylord Rockies Relache Spa we got couples massages. We have done couples massages a few times, but the last time was when we were on our honeymoon in Bali. This experience was a lot different than the one in Bali. Not saying that it was bad, just different.

We booked our first sitter, yay! She is a teacher at Blake’s school so it was someone that we trusted to leave Blake with for a few hours. We knew he would be in good hands when we dropped him off to her house and all of her siblings were so excited for him to be there.

We arrived to the Gaylord Rockies about an hour early for our appointment. We decided that we wanted to get a drink at the sports bar. The sports bar has the biggest TV in all of Colorado. So we enjoyed a drink together before our appointment and just had a nice conversation.

Then we headed to the Relache Spa. We went our separate ways as we got changed into robes and then met back up in the relaxing room. In the relaxing room we waited patiently for our massage therapists to come and get us. It was so nice just being able to sit there with Joe and relax. The room has a fire place and comfortable lounging chairs to hang out on. We felt very blessed to have this opportunity.

Our therapists came to get us and took us back to the room where we received our massages. They were the sweetest ladies that prepared us and talked to us about all of our options. Our room was perfect. It was a dark calming room that smelt amazing.

The massage was amazing. We both have been so stressed out with adjusting to having a baby, Joe’s business, and my full time job. I felt completely relaxed and my therapist took care of my spots where I carry my stress which is usually my neck and shoulders.

After our massages, we lounged in the quiet room and enjoyed a glass of champagne together. It was so nice because we weren’t in any rush and could just enjoy the peace and quiet.

There are a few features of the spa that we did not use which include the steam rooms, showers, and complete vanity. We were just going home after our massage so neither of us bothered showering there. The steam room would have been really awesome but for another day!

Overall the experience was amazing. It was the perfect way to spend the day with just my hubby. It is so important for us to get some alone time and this was the best possible way for us to get away!
