5 Best Restaurants in South Lake Tahoe
1. The Beacon:
This is my favorite go to restaurant in South Lake Tahoe! It is actually right on the beach in Camp Richardson on the way to Emerald Bay. It is kind of hidden if you're not familiar with the area!
The best drink in the world is there. It is an adult slushie called the Rum Runner! Be care they taste delicious and can be dangerous a few in (I have experiences I won't share!). But if you go you have to have at least one! Especially when it's HOT outside!
So I am such a child when I eat, like I would rather have chicken tenders than something on the "adult menu" so if you're looking for a good appetizer than the chicken tenders are awesome because they come with fries too! WIN WIN! But all of my family (including Joe's side) loves the calamari! Supposedly it's the best they've ever had.
2. BaseCamp Pizza:
Okay, best pizza in South Lake Tahoe. They are always crowded (at least in the summer time when I am usually there!). But SO worth it! They have a bunch of beers that are all good.
The cheesy bread though, you have to try it! Especially if you eat there and don't take it home, because lets be real, pizza is always better when you eat at the pizza parlor.
I love pepperoni pizza, like thats really the only pizza I'll eat. If people want other stuff, I will literally just pick off everything and eat cheese. Here comes out my child side again hehe. But the pepperoni is so good here at Basecamp! Joe also likes their Base Camp which includes pepperoni, Italian sausage, roasted peppers, onions, and portabella mushrooms!
So one thing that you have to try is their hot sauce ( if you like hot things!) Joe swears by it and we wish we could buy it in bulk but they do not sell it. At least the last time we went they didn't sell it.

3. Lake Tahoe AleWorX
This place is so cool because it is a pour your own beer type of place. It is literally a craft beer lovers dream! And they do have wine for all those wine lovers (that's what my mother in law drinks!).
So guess what!! They have PIZZA!! YUM! Pizza and beer are such a wonderful combination!
Overnight they have live music on their patio from 6-9pm! Such a fun concept! And dogs are allowed on the patio! WIN WIN!
4. Taqueria Jalisco
This place is seriously a hole in the wall authentic taqueria! The street tacos are what we go for! They are simple and cheap! They even have a salsa bar that has AMAZING salsas!
They have two locations, one is Taqueria Jalisco and the other is Jalisco Grill. The taqueria one is probably easier to find for someone not familiar with the area, but they are both on Yelp!
5. McP's TapHouse Grill
McP's is the place you want to go to for live music and good beer. They have a whole menu, but we usually go for beer! If you're going out at night, this would be the best place to start your night since it is literally right across the street from the casinos.
Burgers and fries are so good here though, if you are hungry!
They also have another location in Coronado, CA if you're in southern California!
